Ashley & Ladislav- Edmonton Wedding Photography

October 5, 2012

Ashley & Ladi were married earlier this summer in the Czech Republic but decided to have a party at home in Edmonton to celebrate with their close friends and family who couldn’t make the trip. Although I was hired  primarily for reception and party images, we took 20 minutes to sneak outside the Edmonton Golf and Country Club for a few pictures of the newlyweds. Although the trees of Edmonton don’t hold a candle to the dramatic city of Prague, it was still fun to be able to capture some of them on the (second) happiest day of their lives. The speeches made me laugh till I cried and I teared up again during their romantic first dance-  but it didn’t help that their first dance was to the same song that Tim and I danced to years ago. This was the first time I’ve heard it as someone else’s first dance song and it made me very happy to see them singing along to each other, much like we did. The dance party went on till the wee hours of the morning. Not before there were shots to be had, impromptu karaoke to be sung and some dancing with the DJ’s speakers. That’s what you call a fun group of friends. 😉

Ashley and Ladislav are a wonderful match. They laugh so much together and you can just see how happy they are when they look at each other. I love down to earth people with huge hearts and they fit that description perfectly. Ashley is one of my favourite brides ever- she referred to me on her day not as “her photographer Kelsy” but as “her friend Kelsy” (*insert big smile here*).  Now I just wait for the babies so we can work together again….

Big hugs,

Kelsy
