Mila & Peter- Edmonton Wedding Photography

November 25, 2013

Mila and Peter’s wedding at the Alberta Art Gallery stands out to me for so many reasons. Firstly and most importantly, they are completely in love. From the first moment Peter saw Mila during their private and emotional first glance he couldn’t take his eyes off her. And at the ceremony, even though they had spent the last few hours together during our portrait session, as soon as Mila walked down the isle they both couldn’t help but become emotional in the moment. The first glance had been magical, and the same connection was felt as soon as they saw each other in the ceremony as well.  The ceremony was also the perfect blend of tradition and creativity, incorporating both of their religions and experiences. It had such a personal feel to it.

I loved spending the day with Mila and Peter and throughly enjoyed the hearing the stories at the reception and laughing along with the crowd (and there wasn’t anyone not laughing- or not crying by the end). The formal part of the recpetion ended with one of my facourite parts of every reception- the slideshow. Their slideshow, however, was full of the most wonderful portraits of childhood I have ever seen at a wedding. Mila’s father’s photography of his daughter growing up was exactly the kind of photography I love- carefree portraits of childhood executed perfectly with gorgeous light and timeless moments.  My fantastic second shooter Jessica and I, both shed a few tears enjoying the step back in time and watching them grow up.

Thank you so much for a wonderful day, a fanastic evening, and a delicous late lunch with Drift food truck. It was the perfect (and delicious) end to a great day. I wish you both a wonderful life together.

Hugs
