Sarah & Chris- Edmonton Rustic Wedding Photography

June 12, 2013

When Sarah and Chris first contacted me about their wedding one thing stood out- they were getting married on my 30th birthday.  After meeting with them I knew they’d be super fun people to spend my birthday with and it turns out I was very right. It ended up being a colder day in April then it was when I shot my last wedding in February, but they toughed it out against the beautiful backdrop of Fort Edmonton. The wedding day was seamless- it was easy for the guests (but perhaps a little cold) to walk through the park grounds to the little historic Church, over to Kelly’s Saloon for cocktails and then a walk to Egge’s Barn for their vintage wedding reception. I loved the ease and relaxed feeling of the whole day. The reception also had the same relaxed feeling and was full of some of the yummiest Italian food and some the most beautiful cakes I’ve seen. A  gorgeous cake buffet was the perfect way to end the day- everyone could try their favourite flavour. Another of my favourite parts of the reception was a unique Rooster pitcher on every table. It’s an Italian Tradition symbolizing good luck at weddings. They were collected lovingly from around the world and made such a great detail of the day.

Thank you Sarah and Chris for such a fun day. Blake and I laughed so much and we both really enjoyed being part of your celebration. You were so much fun to be around that I’ll even forgive you for that whole “stand up while everyone sings to you” thing 🙂 Thanks again!

xoxo,

Kelsy
